Penukonda Hill offers a quick, scenic escape for bikers. The roads leading up to the hill are in excellent condition, making for a smooth and enjoyable ride.
While there are a few restaurants along the way, most of them seem to open later in the day, so be prepared to fuel up before your ascent.
Thankfully, I managed to find a decent South Indian restaurant at Big Bay, a convenient highway pitstop. The climb itself isn’t overly challenging, and the summit is reached relatively quickly.
The Summit Experience:
Unfortunately, there isn’t much to see or do at the top of Penukonda Hill. The view isn’t particularly spectacular, and there are limited amenities.
The Return Journey:
With the ride up and the summit exploration completed, I was able to make the return journey from Yelahanka in a reasonable 5 hours, including a leisurely breakfast break.
Overall:
Penukonda Hill is a good option for a short, scenic motorcycle ride. The well-maintained roads and quick ascent make it a convenient choice for a day trip. However, don’t expect a thrilling summit experience. It’s more about the journey than the destination.
